We present a project that proves that the building does not have to be old or stone to fit perfectly into the characteristic Dalmatian landscape. The architects from the Heros company and the famous designer Tihana Runje are responsible for that
Maslinica, a village on the island of Solta, is for many one of the most beautiful places on the Adriatic. Many tourists swear that it is here that they have experienced sunsets that they will never forget, and the place itself is captivated by the beautiful nature, natural beaches, crystal clear sea and picturesque stone houses.
No wonder then that one family decided to make their dream cottage right here. And they did just that – a house that invites every inch of relaxation, rest, enjoyment … In short, a hedonistic stay. The trump card of this house is definitely the almost unreal view from each of its rooms, which extends to the nearby islands of Polebrnjak, Saskinja, Stipanska, Kamik, Balkun, Rudula and Grmej. The view is actually amazing, and at dusk it seems almost transcendental.
It spreads over two floors following the configuration of the terrain in the shape of an irregular letter L, where the upper floor only leans on the ground floor in front of which the pool is located.
It has a total of 280 m2, with two spacious terraces, spread over two floors following the configuration of the terrain in the shape of an irregular letter L, where the upper floor actually leans on the ground floor in front of which is the pool – says Tihana Runje, famous Croatian designer who signs the project interior design of this building.
Tihana is a designer who always stays true to her belief that the project must be unique, not a copy of someone else, and she incorporates a part of her casual and rebellious style into everything she does. Each of these spaces is a new and unique work, the design is always attractive, but never neglects the functionality of the same. This is best seen in the project of this beautiful house on Solta, the architectural part of which is signed by the company Heros from Split.
The interior is devoid of unnecessary details, and the main trump card is the unreal view of the sea from each room
The house has as many as four bedrooms, four bathrooms, two toilets, a modern kitchen with dining area, living room, outdoor kitchen with dining area, wine cellar and gym.
– Considering that this is a holiday home, the ideological advantage is given to functionality. Thus, the interior is devoid of unnecessary details, clean lines, modern, and a special charm is given by selected pieces of natural wood furniture, as well as black and white photographs with rowing and sea motifs, photographer and former active rower, today head coach at HVK Gusar Denis Bobana.
Apart from the trendy chairs, dining table and coffee table from Kara design, most of the furniture is made to measure, so the spacious sofa and perfectly made beds in which quality sleep is guaranteed, were made in Sinj in the company Sedile d.o.o. The kitchens are also made to measure and fit perfectly into the ambience of both the interior and exterior. Everything in this house is subordinated to only one thing, and that is enjoyment, to all the senses – describes Tihana Runje.
In addition to the master bedroom, the ground floor of this villa bears the attribute of a living space, where the classic composition of sofas, armchairs and TVs is enriched with a spacious terrace. Wide open glass walls direct the living area towards the sea, the environment, the sky, and the boundaries between outdoor and indoor space disappear and the terrace becomes part of the interior.
The spacious terrace with facilities for rest, sunbathing, socializing is responsible for the complete enjoyment on the upper floor. Finally, the whole villa is airy, bathed in the sun, overlooking the greenery, olives, lavender and rosemary. Namely, the horticulture around the house is an important part of its Mediterranean identity, and every detail is carefully planned. Fitting such a building into the archaic Mediterranean landscape was a great challenge, but it turned out that the house does not have to be old or stone, and that it fits perfectly into the characteristic Dalmatian landscape – concludes the designer. The spacious terrace with facilities for rest, sunbathing, socializing is responsible for the complete enjoyment on the upper floor.
