Philippe Starck is certainly one of the most famous designers, architects, creators of the late 20th and early 21st centuries. We call him an artist, because because of his versatility, he is.
He was born in Paris, January 18, 1949. years. Already at an early age he showed an interest in design, inspired by the works of his father, an aircraft designer. Philippe Starck is a French product designer and probably the most famous interior designer in the NEW DESIGNE style. Each of its smallest objects gives a special place to the space in which it is located.
He was educated in Paris at the COMODO school from 1965 to 1967, and immediately afterwards became director of his firm in collaboration with Pierre Cardin. Since then, he has been designing and designing all over the world, from houses, interiors, furniture, to toothbrushes, with an exceptional talent to turn the subject of his task into a place of charm, pleasure and comfort. In 1975, he began to independently design interiors and products. His career began to develop seriously in 1982 when he designed the interior of the private apartment of then-French President Francois Mitterrand. A year after he decorated the presidential suite, his fame grew with the decoration of the famous CAFE COSTES in Paris.
Philippe Starck believes that if there is no vision either human, social or love, the project has no right to exist. Although he is not considered a greater architect than a designer.
1989 begins to create buildings in Japan, each in its new form. As a true euphoric, he treated each of his spaces as if it were a theater in which a story should be created, creating a new kind of drama. This is how the TEATRON restaurant in Mexico (1985) and THEATER in Madrid (1988) were created, in old theaters, and are a true example of its phenomenalism.
The year 1988 was decisive in the world of hotels. Hotels no longer have only a transit role, but a role of living, pleasant spaces combined with humor and irony. When Ian Schrager, the impresario and co-owner of the legendary Studio 54 after the excellent reception of his 1984 Morgans Hotel, decided in 1988 to hire Starck to renovate the Royalton Hotel in New York, and soon in 1990 the Paramount Hotel, it was the trigger for a change of incredible proportions. not only the philosophy of hotel design, but also the rhetoric of cultural theories of tourism. Followed by Stark’s refurbishment of the 1995 Delano Hotel in Miami Beach, the 1996 Mondrian Hotel in Los Angeles, St. Louis. The 1999 Martins Lane Hotel and the 2000 Sanderson Hotel in London, the 2001 Clift Hotel in San Francisco, the 2004 Jia Hotel in Hong Kong, and the 2005 Hudson Hotel, again in New York City.
Philip Starck’s position is that every object, shape, every style must have meaning, and meaning is what affects us every day! Believing that honest, modern elegance stems from the multiplication of a single object, contrary to the ideology of limited series, where prejudice about rarity leads to the selection of money before need, Starck has successfully dedicated his life to fighting design to go ahead of elitism.
His work changes our daily lives! It is a favorite because it strives to make our lives easier, and thus make life more beautiful. It is difficult to find a common denominator of his style, except to listen to many critics and call him “free and emotional”.
It always remains consistent that his DESIGNS – MODELS should respect NATURE and the future of mankind.
Always and everywhere he seems to understand better than all our dreams, desires and needs, and our responsibility towards the future.
“… Honest, full of enthusiasm…”, he considers it his duty to share with us a subversive vision of a better world, a better world that is his own, but still suits us like a glove. He is tireless in changing the reality of our daily lives, sublimating our roots and the deepest source of our being into his changes. ”
